PTSD: Phoenix Traffic Stress Disorder

Kingsnake's Dashcam #112

I vaguely remember two auto accidents from my youth:

The first accident was on I-43 just north of the Milwaukee airport. A car had eaten the center rail. (No Jersey barrier back then.) Apparently, a guy was also wrapped around the rail. I must have blocked out that visual, but my dad told me about it. Maybe while telling me not to look? I checked the newspaper obituaries for quite awhile to see if he made it. (He didn’t.)

The other accident was driving back from a family boat trip to the Apostle Islands in northern Wisconsin. Two lane road. Ahead of us, one car pulled out to pass just as the guy behind him pulled out to pass. Into the trees they went. I don’t think there were any fatalities, but I do remember my dad stopping to help, and saying one of the passengers was in shock.

Nothing quite that bad this month, but a doozy nonetheless!
