Our annual romantic December getaway to Sin City, when rates are at their lowest. Even Wynn Encore is reasonable — and with a great view of the decaying, unoccupied, Riviera and decaying, but still occupied, Circus Circus.
Our trips are never about gambling — honest! — rather they are about dining, a show, and hike in the beautiful Nevada that exists outside the Las Vegas Strip. This year’s hike was at Bowl of Fire, in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. This year’s restaurants were Chicago Joe’s (downtown), Ambra Italian Kitchen (MGM Grand) and Bacon Bar (North Las Vegas) And … The show was the always hilarious Dave Landau at Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club (MGM Grand).
