When it’s not too hot, and I can spare the pack space, I like to squeeze in a bottle of heavenly nectar. Like Ben Franklin said, “Beer is proof that God loves us, and wants us to be happy.” 🍻
A hundred years ago, thanx to Prohibition, Carrie Nation did not want us to be happy. (She is the beaming lady you see in the thumbnail on my Phoenix Asshole Drivers videos.)
Today, National Beer Day, April 7th, the USA celebrates the repeal of Prohibition on this glorious occasion in 1933. 🥳
New Glarus, Kirin Ichiban, Hofbräu, Żywiec and — unironically — Schlitz are just some of the hiking beers I’ve included in this video.
I’ve enjoyed those hiking beers in locations as diverse as the future path of the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway (completed in December, 2019), South Fortuna Mountain in San Diego, at the Bullard Mine, and in Skull Valley. ☠️
