Nationwide Premier League

The Nationwide Premier League was a top division in MFLS from 2004-2008. It merged with Brew City before the 2009 season, bringing over eight teams — expanding BCFA to 30. In order to honor NPL’s tradition in future BCFA years, the following plan was implemented:

Nationwide Supercup: In 2009, it will be between the BCFA side, and former-NPL side, which have the highest combined fantasy + prediction points total in 2008. In subsequent years (2010 and beyond), it will likely be between BCFA’s highest ranked fantasy team and highest ranked prediction team. Regardless, the format will be a two-leg, home & away series, with the score for a given leg being a team’s combined fantasy + prediction points for that week. Name will remain “Nationwide Supercup”.

Miklos Feher Cup: In 2009, and beyond, will be awarded to the team which finishes highest in BCFA’s MFLS-standard division fantasy table. (Transferring from an existing NPL competition to an existing BCFA competion.) The NPL-style of trophy will continue to be awarded.

John Thomson Cup: In 2009, and beyond, will be awarded to the team which finishes highest in BCFA’s MFLS-standard division prediction table. (A new name for an existing BCFA competion.) Trophy to be determined.

FA Cup: Starting in 2009, the NPL FA Cup trophy will become the new Brew City FA Cup trophy. The old Brew City FA Cup trophy will be retired after 2008.

Nationwide Premiership: Competition and trophy to be retired.

League Cup: The existing BCFA trophy will continue to be awarded.

The old NPL tripod.com website will no longer be maintained. All data and history on that site will be merged in Brew City FA’s web site at http://prestonm.com/brew-city-fa.
