Mega Church Loop

Sunnyslope - Moon Valley - Lookout Mountain

What I refer to as the Mega Church Loop is my most common bike ride, both “back in the day” (pre-2014) and since I resumed riding in late 2021. The Mega Church Loop is almost entirely paved, unless I am cutting across park grass to avoid dogs or meth addicts (some of whom make brief appearances in this video). One of these days I’ll do a video of just the bums I encounter while biking. 🧟‍♂️

Roughly speaking, the Mega Church Loop runs from my Sunnyslope hood along Mountain View Rd., to the Arizona Canal. Then along the “Homeless Highway” to Rose Mofford Park, north through Cave Creek Park to Cave Creek Golf Course, east past North Hills Church, through Moon Valley Park, along Greenway Parkway, south to Lookout Mountain Park then the Home Depot on Thunderbird, before finally taking Cave Creek Rd. back into Sunnyslope. Seventeen miles of scenery and swamp creatures. (Though the area between the mega church and Lookout Mountain isn’t bad …)

If nothing else, enjoy the Trainspotting-like soundtrack! 🎶
