Hiking Beer #7

Roll out the barrell, we'll have a barrell of fun!

Hiking Beer #7 and Other Beer-li-ness

Somehow, the 1920s were “roaring” despite Prohibition taking effect on January 17, 1920. Americans could possess alcohol, just not brew / distill it, transport it, or sell it. And Italian and Irish organized crime was not in the habit of giving booze away for free, out of the kindness of their hearts. Not even during the Depression.

Our grandfathers and great-grandfathers fought long & hard to repeal Prohibition.

Today, April 7th, National Beer Day, celebrates Prohibition’s repeal in 1933.

Apparently, April 7th is also “National Alcohol Screening Day”, but fuck those guys.
