San Tan Mountain Regional Park

Mansel Carter, and his Cherokee sidekick Marion Kennedy, were mid-20th century prospectors in the San Tan Mountains. When Carter passed in 1987, Queen Creek was still mostly rural. Now, it is a city of 76,000, extending nearly to Florence. The Carter & Kennedy graves are just off Goldmine Trail, ⅓ mile south of Goldmine Trailhead.
